Immigration Launches Staff Shuttles

The Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration Control (DCIC) has today, 14th July 2017 launched two staff shuttles; Nissan Coasters to ease transportation of its staff, especially at Entebbe Airport. The launch was presided over by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Dr. Benon M. Mutambi , accompanied by among others, the Commissioner Immigration Control Mr. Anthony Namara, the Principal Immigration Office (PIO) In Charge of Entebbe Airport Mr. Kanuma Robert as well as sister agencies working with Immigration at Entebbe Airport such as the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) and security agencies such as Aviation Police, Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI), Internal Security Organisation (ISO) and External Security Organisation (ESO)

The Permanent Secretary urged the staff to keep working hard and ensure a high level of dedication towards their work as well as maintain co-operation with sister agencies. He told them that as the ‘face’ of the country, they must maintain a high standard of productivity and service.

The Commissioner Mr. Namara had earlier informed the Permanent Secretary that the Shuttles were meant to ensure uniformity of travel as well as fostering togetherness among the staff. “Our Staff will be able to arrive together and in time, and start work without any glitches arising from either too much traffic causing them to come late or any other unforeseen occurrence”.


PIO Kanuma expressed gratitude on behalf of the staff at the Airport and promised to effectively and efficiently utilize the shuttles to not only deliver quality work, but ensure utmost levels of professionalism.

The Permanent Secretary had earlier on been taken around the airport by Commisioner Namara and PIO Kanuma where he interacted with officers on duty and generally had a familiarization tour of the facility. He also held a meeting with the different agencies at the Airport including the already mentioned CAA, URA, CMI, ISO, Aviation Police and ESO among others
